There is a castle which had been rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau and sold together with the town and the whole manor to Jan Starsi from Lobkowitz in 1572, after the death of Vilem Krajir from Krajka. The Lobkowitzs sold Bystrice in 1602 to Radoslav from Vchynice. During its lordship the town and the chateau was largely reconstructed after a horrible fire in 1607. Between years 1615 and 1693 the manor belongs to the Slavatas, Adam Pavel Slavata residented there from 1626 to 1652. The chateau was renewed after another fire by order of him in 1651. But in 1693 the manor was bought by Jan Leopold from Funfkirchen, his family possessed it till 1807.
The surroundings are full of beautiful woods and ponds. The narrow-gauge railway line is reckoned to be a local rarity by which you can travel to Jindrichuv Hradec.
